Tragic accident in Venice: Count Marco Passi dies after his boat collides with a briccola. A woman is seriously injured

Yet another tragic accident occurred last night in the Venice lagoon. This time, the Count was the one who sadly paid the price Mark Steps45 years old, whose boat crashed into a “briccola“, or rather a mooring pole in the Venetian lagoon. The violent impact caused, in addition to the death of the count, also the serious injury of a woman, a 42-year-old of French origins, who was also on board the boat at the time.

The dynamics of the accident in which Count Marco Passi lost his life

According to initial reconstructions of the tragic accident that occurred last night in the Venice lagoon and which unfortunately caused the death of Count Marco Passi, his vessel violently collided with one of the mooring poles. Investigators are examining the causes that led to this collision: if for a wrong maneuver or for aengine failure.

Last night the Fire Brigade was notified of the presence of a broken-down boat that was spinning on itself in front of the island of Fisola bag, in Venice. Once the alarm was raised, the rescue machine intervened promptly. In particular, two lagoon fire engines, the Marittima motorboat and the divers, who came from Vicenza, went to the site.

The rescuers, once they boarded the vessel, managed to regain control and found two people inside. Immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation operations were attempted on the man, which unfortunately proved to be completely futile. The Suem health workers, once they arrived, could do nothing but declare the count dead. The woman, on the other hand, was stabilized and urgently transferred by hydroambulance to the hospital. She is currently in serious condition.

Investigations are underway to ascertain the causes of the dramatic accident

The police officers also intervened at the scene of the collision Police and of Port authorities to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.

The rescue operations were concluded around 2 am. The Fire Brigade team subsequently carried out a search of the surrounding area using the lighting of the motorboat VF 1171 to exclude the involvement of other vessels and ensure the absence of further dangerous situations.
