Kroon did not agree with the conviction and lodged an appeal in cassation. Because he would have urological problems, and there were too few toilets available, he was forced to pee in public. According to Kroon, his arrest was also accompanied by considerable and disproportionate violence.
The court was of the opinion that Kroon himself should have taken his bladder problems into account. According to the military chamber, Kroon had ‘behaved disrespectfully’. The Advocate General advised the Supreme Court earlier in March already to uphold the conviction.
