A few days before the weekend that will characterize the debut of Formula 1 in Qatar, the same category has recently welcomed the news coming from Alfa Romeo, which has announced its new driver for 2022. The Swiss team, in fact, has not reconfirmed Antonio Giovinazzi for next season, hiring the Chinese Guanyu Zhou, the first representative of his country to participate in an F1 world championship.
In this way, the line-up for the world championship to come is therefore complete, but the news of Zhou’s arrival has not been fully welcomed by fans. Many, in fact, criticized Alfa Romeo’s move, accused of having acted more for economic reasons than for the search for a real talent who could replace the driver from Martina Franca, who in turn made this thought understood through a tweet.
There @ F1 it is talent, machine, risk, speed. But she also knows how to be ruthless, when money dictates the rules.
I believe in small and large victories achieved thanks to one’s own means.

Speaking of this message on the famous social network, another Italian driver wanted to express his opinion on the matter, this time going in defense of the next Alfa Romeo driver: Raffaele Marciello. The Mercedes driver, now engaged in various GT competitions, has in fact emphasized the reality of paying drivers, much more extensive than the single case that has seen Zhou at the center of attention in the last few hours: “I do not understand – he wrote – because everyone is against Zhou. At a certain point in their career each driver paid for his place, even Giovinazzi thanks to Gelael did it in F3 / GP2. Thanks to Ferrari I made F abarth / F3 / GP2. There is nothing wrong with paying for the seat. If in 2-3 years Zhou proves slow, someone will pay for the seat for him. Easy”.
I don’t get why everyone is against @ gyzhou_33 At point every driver paid their seat, even Giovinazzi thanks to Gelael did F3 / GP2. Me thanks to Ferrari I did F abarth / F3 / GP2. there is nothing wrong to pay their seat. In 2/3 years if Zhou is slow someone will pay his seat. Easy

I actually remember the first time I saw @ gyzhou_33 I never believed he was going to make to f1 but I can tell you he works really hard and I’m sure he will do well 💪🏻 pic.twitter.com/TLPal3lDAO

In addition to this consideration, Marciello finally published a second tweet, this time completely dedicated to the future of the Chinese in the Circus: “In reality – he added – I remember the first time I saw Zhou. I never believed he would reach F1, but I can say he works very hard and i am sure it will do well“.
