Manuel Rosemberg, prominent Mexican social entrepreneur and co-founder of ANA Care, has been awarded as Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 for the Schwab Foundationsister organization of the World Economic Forum. This recognition highlights his track record of more than two decades leading innovative initiatives in key sectors such as health, education and sustainability, and his transformative impact on home care through ANA Care.
The Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year award, presented each year at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, is an internationally prestigious recognition that celebrates those leaders who are making a significant difference in their communities and in the world. This award highlights the innovation and social impact of entrepreneurs who use creative approaches to address social and environmental problems.
Business Model that empowers and transforms
ANA Care, co-founded by Manuel Rosemberg and Ariel Zylbersztejn, offers an AI-powered platform that provides education, training, certification and support tools for in-home caregivers. Designed to improve standards of home care, the ANA (Automated Nursing Assistant) platform also helps governments and companies providing professional care services address the critical lack of monitoring and support to caregivers at home.
Currently, ANA Care operates in eight countries in Latin America and has involved more than 15,000 caregivers through its platform, benefiting more than 50,000 people, including family members and patients, managing to transform home health care into a dignified, sustainable and accessible model. Its impact extends from reducing medical costs, both for individuals and for governments in charge of public health, to improving the quality of life of caregivers, patients and their families.
In Latin America, 70% of the more than 15 million paid caregivers of older adults earn the minimum wage or less, and only 28% have a formal contract, reflecting widespread job insecurity*. This informality not only affects caregivers who in these circumstances are incapable of providing the best services, but also governments, since it increases the costs derived from errors in care and avoidable hospitalizations, raising social security costs.
Globally, the number of people over 80 years of age is expected to triple by 2050**. Resolving this crisis is essential to guarantee sustainable and effective health systems in the face of the rapid aging of the population and is what the ANA Care team has dedicated itself to for 9 years, seeking to optimize home care systems.
“We care for those who care and we believe in a world where caring is not invisible and exhausting work, but rather a path to personal growth and human connection. This award reinforces our commitment to dignify and professionalize the role of the caregiver,” commented Manuel Rosemberg.
Impact and recognitions
ANA Care has successfully launched a pilot program with the government of Mexico City to test the effectiveness of the platform, demonstrating the potential to benefit more than 2 million caregivers and their patients throughout Mexico.
Since its launch, ANA has improved the effectiveness of home care programs, as demonstrated by results in Mexico City, where the platform increased the effectiveness of visits by 50% and reduced response times by more than 90%. %. In addition, its collaboration with governments, the CONOCER certification and the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) position it as a reference of credibility in the region.
