Manchester City hopes to reach the 2024/25 season with a few more trophies in their cabinets.
Pep Guardiola’s team continues to fight for its record fourth consecutive Premier League title and will also contest the FA Cup final against city rivals Manchester United this season. Following their Champions League disappointment at the hands of Real Madrid, Manchester City are eager to redeem themselves in the final weeks of the campaign.
Therefore, Man City will not be able to look ahead to next season yet, although the club already has a tight 2024/25 pre-season schedule prepared.
More news about Manchester City
Manchester City will join the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United in traveling to the United States for the majority of their pre-season. The tour begins on July 23 with a clash against Celtic, and the Cityzens will play three more games in North America during the summer period.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester City organize more pre-season friendlies, as Guardiola is never a fan of overloading the calendar on the eve of a new campaign. However, it is very likely that he will take part in the Community Shield on August 6 and that he will play the opening match at Wembley if he wins the league or FA Cup.
Manchester City’s American tour will kick off on July 23 in North Carolina against Scottish Glasgow Celtic, in a match whose time, like all City friendlies, has yet to be confirmed.
Four days later, Guardiola’s men will face Milan at New York’s Yankee Stadium, before the Spanish manager takes on his former team Barcelona in Orlando at the end of July.
A team Man City are very familiar with from the 2023/24 season, their final pre-season clash comes against Premier League foes Chelsea in Ohio. The meeting will take place on August 3, three days before a possible Community Shield.
