Guardiola’s team lost to Bournemouth (2-1) to end an eleven-month unbeaten streak in the English league
Manchester City suffered their first defeat in eleven months in the Premier League this Saturday in Bournemouth, which also cost them to give up the first position in the English league to Liverpool, who at the same time came back against Brighton at Anfield (2-1 ).
City had not known defeat in the Premier since December 6 of last year, when on matchday 15 they lost to Aston Villa (1-0). Since then he had accumulated 32 undefeated games.
It was up to Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth to break that streak thanks to goals from Semenyo (9) and Evanilson (64). Gvardiol (82) scored the goal for Pep Guardiola’s team.
City’s defeat coincided in time with Liverpool’s victory against Brighton (2-1). The Reds had to come back from Ferdi Kadioglu’s goal in the 14th minute. They did it in the second half, with two almost consecutive goals from Gakpo (69) and Salah (72). That victory puts Liverpool first, with 25 points, compared to City’s 23.
City completes its worst week in recent times, after also losing on Wednesday against Tottenham (2-1) in the League Cup.
