Italy, Spalletti is preparing for the Nations League against Belgium and Israel
Luciano Spalletti’s Italy is ready to start again: after the double victory in the Nations League (on the field of France and against Israel), the Azzurri will have two more home matches in the competition, where they will try to secure their passage to the next round. On Thursday 10th October they face Lukaku’s Belgium (at the Olimpico in Rome) and then on Monday 14th the return match against Israel (at the Friuli in Udine).
Meanwhile, the Italian coach lets it be known that Daniel Maldini (now star of Monza) and Niccolò Pisilli (Roma midfielder born in 2004, goal and Player of the Match in Sunday’s victory against Roma) are among Italy’s pre-summit squad.
And it opens up to the return of Federico Chiesa (now at Liverpool) and Matteo Politano (scored in the last round of the championship which saw Napoli beat Monza 2-0 and take the lead in the championship).
Maldini and Pisilli, pre-summoned by Luciano Spalletti’s Italy team
“There are some really strong young people who are growing and who are showing that Italy’s future can be important. Maldini and Pisilli they are two names that are on the pre-summoned list, because we have already given them.” This was said by the technical commissioner of the Italian national football team, Luciano Spalletti, on the sidelines of his visit to the Santobono hospital in Naples to which the coach donated the famous Fiat Panda which, on the occasion of Napoli’s conquest of the third championship, was embellished with an evocative painting on the bodywork and autographed by all the players
“Naturally – added Spalletti – we are pleased that there are new forces that can come and make a contributiona helping hand in what will be the difficulty we will still have in putting things right after we didn’t have a great European Championship.”
Italy, Spalletti opens up to Chiesa and Politano
Luciano Spalletti also opened up about Chiesa and Politano’s return to Italy. “We have decided to rejuvenate the team a lot, but these two players are still of an accessible age and are in our thoughts. It is clear that we need to be careful because then, having changed the way of playing, we relied more on the two strikers, on footballers who know how to do a bit of everything on the pitch, to this willingness to also take responsibility for other roles. In this – the coach maintained – the midfielders are the ones who are best able to develop this function, this behaviour, so we will continue. like this, because we saw some new and very interesting things.”
