A moderate earthquake hit the Greek island of Crete on Wednesday, the latest in a series of tremors to hit the region, following a 5.8-magnitude earthquake on September 27.
The Greek newspaper “Katimirini” today quoted the “Geodynamic Institute” in Athens as saying that the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.3, and it occurred at 5:44 am, local time, five kilometers northeast of the town of “Arkalochouri” in the “Iraklio” region, Depth of 11.7 km.
There were no reports of serious damage or injuries.
