The proposal, supported by PP and Vox in the municipal plenary session and with the abstention of the left, has been presented by Vox councilor Fernando Martínez Vidal, “as a religious and cultural manifestation of special citizen significance and general interest for the city.”
Martínez Vidal recalled that on June 14, 2022, the Government of Spain declared the nativity scene as a representative manifestation of the cultural and material heritage, which means the previous step to the declaration as the cultural and material heritage of humanity by UNESCO. “This manifestation is a traditionally preserved living heritage by the communities that have transmitted it over time intergenerationally”, indicated the mayor.
