Lumon Spain advances in Aragon. The company, specialized in glazing solutionsis preparing his expansion in the Aragonese community given the sustained growth that this autonomy has been registering, especially since the pandemic.
Precisely, from that period until today, the company has grown by 80%. “With the pandemic we realized the importance of the terrace. The constructions have gone towards larger and more usable terraces. It is an important demand, which has remained after the covid,” says Sergio Miguel, area manager of Aragón, to theEconomist
It is a growth that is also sustained by the weather, especially in Zaragoza, characterized by the snow, which leads to continuous demand for glazing solutions to enjoy the terraces and outdoor spaces of the home.
The greater demand explains Lumon’s expansion plan in Aragon. In this community it has headquarters from which The entire province of Zaragoza is served, as well as Huesca and Teruel and the Lérida area..
And, now, the objective is to expand this radius of action to gain more presence and cover more territory, in addition to open up to more autonomy or cities, which is planned for the year 2025. The focus, initially, is on the area northwest Spain.
The expansion leaves the door open to other Lumon projects in Zaragoza. Given the increase in demand, the opening of a production center. “My dream is for me to be in Zaragoza with the growth project,” adds Sergio Miguel.
Currently, Lumon, a family-owned and international Finnish group, has plants in Finland, Canada and Spain. In the latter country, its production center is located in the town of Antequera. Furthermore, in Malaga, there are the central services. This factory is, to date, the most modern in terrace glazing. It also has a partner in Chile.
Lumon Spain’s plans in turn go through a staff increase. Currently, in Aragon employs 40 people and it is expected to be able reach 50 professionals by the end of 2025. Salespeople and installers are some of the profiles that need to be incorporated in the coming months. In total, Lumon employs, including the Antequera factory, 400 people in Spain.
Lumon is immersed and has undertaken important projects in Aragon such as more than 1,000 glazing in Venice Parkas well as the more than 100 carried out in the Torre Zaragoza Buildingwhich was “the first project that gave the option to improve” the building with the incorporation of its intelligent solutions.
It is also a segment in which the company hopes to intensify its growth to work more with construction companies so that the architect can directly include intelligent solutions or give options, but without forgetting the individual segment.
In addition to glazing solutions, Lumon also has other business lines focused on awnings, stores, ceilings or glass curtains in which there is also significant demand due to changes in the way of building and the need to advance in energy efficiency.
For example, although it depends on the morphology and the window, you can have a 34% energy savings with glazing. “In winter it also creates a greenhouse effect and creates more comfort. In summer, the solar stores are made of thermal fabric, which repels the sun,” which can make lower the temperature by five degrees Celsius approximately. The renovation of the facades can also be delayed, which “is a saving for the owners and the community” of neighbors.
