PT participated in a meeting with representatives of associations for the elderly to discuss policies aimed at the group
the former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) promised to recreate the Ministry of Social Security if elected in October. The PT participated in a meeting with representatives of retired and elderly associations this Thursday (22.Sep.2022), in São Paulo.
“We are going to recreate the Ministry of Social Security”declared. “In my party, we have a participation quota for young women, women – women are now parity. We have for black people, you know, everything has a quota. And there’s no quota for us [idosos]. We are a very important part of the Brazilian nation”declared.
During the event, the former president demanded political engagement from retirees and the elderly and said that the public “needs a motivation”.
“The motivation is for us to feel useful, to participate in political activity, to have a say in things, to be interested in what happens. If we are not interested, not even our grandson will listen to us”he said.
Lula also criticized the policies of the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) aimed at retirees and the elderly.
“The impression we have is that the queue that exists in the social security [é] because the government thinks it can pay less to have more money, it is left for it to fill its secret budget pocket”declared the PT.
creation of ministries
During his campaign to the Planalto, Lula indicated that he should create at least 10 ministries, in addition to the portfolio announced this Thursday. The PT candidate for the Presidency of the Republic has already talked about creating the ministries of Women, Racial Equality and Human Rights. These areas are now under the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights. The transformation of 1 ministry into 3, in practice, is the addition of two ministries to the total.
The following infographic shows the ministries already mentioned by Lula. Then read the moments when the statements were made.
