President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva spoke this Saturday (14), by telephone, with the presidents of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, and the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. According to Palácio do Planalto, Lula asked for support for the departure of Brazilians from the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed the importance of seeking peace in the region.
In the conversations, the president demonstrated concern for Palestinian civilians and also condemned terrorist attacks in Israel. Lula also defended the opening of a humanitarian corridor in Gaza and the release of all hostages.

On Thursday (12), Lula spoke by telephone with the president of Israel, Isaac Herzog, and reiterated Brazil’s condemnation of the attacks carried out by the Hamas group, which the president classified as terrorist acts.
Repatriation
In the dialogue with the Egyptian president, Lula informed that, after Brazilians cross the Rafah crossing, they will be accompanied by the Brazilian ambassador in Egypt to Arish Airport, where they will immediately board a Brazilian Air Force aircraft bound for Brazil.
Lula also informed that Brazil should soon send medicine kits to Egypt, among other items.
The president confirmed that Brazil, as president of the UN Security Council, will maintain tireless action to avoid an even greater humanitarian disaster and the spread of the conflict.
Both presidents reaffirmed their defense of the two-state solution (Israeli and Palestinian) and agreed to maintain frequent consultations on the ongoing crisis.
