The campaign of the PT candidate for the Presidency, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, asked the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to reconsider the decision that determined the withdrawal of social networks and the use in electoral propaganda of the excerpt of the interview granted by the president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) about Venezuelan girls.
On Friday (14.Oct), to the channel Red-Black Paparazzoon YouTube, Bolsonaro said that “painted a mood” in relation to girls who would have between “14 and 15 years”, according to the Chief Executive. Lula’s campaign said that there was no decontextualization in the use of the material. read the intact of the resource (1.4 MB).
The decision to withdraw the content was taken by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, president of the TSE. The magistrate said that there was disclosure of a fact “known to be untrue, with serious decontextualization and apparent purpose of linking the candidate to the commission of a sexual crime”. The request for removal came from Bolsonaro’s campaign.
Lula’s campaign appeal asks the Electoral Court to reject the president’s coalition action. If the Court does not accept the request, the PT asks that the ban be limited to the broadcasting of content that associates the Chief Executive with the practice of pedophilia, allowing the use of the video with the president’s speeches about Venezuelan girls.
“As explained in the narrative of the facts, Jair Bolsonaro’s speech is clear and objective, with no gap to promote any decontextualization”says the resource.
Lula’s lawyers said that Moraes’ decision to remove the material “it is a disincentive to all Brazilian voters who wish to question the President of the Republic about what favorable ‘climate’ 14/15 year olds can represent for him”.
“Now, in the story narrated by himself, during one of his motorcycle rides, he would have seen ‘young and beautiful girls’, in his own conception, they would have been between 14 and 15 years old, he said (literally) having painted a climate, he returned to the way and asked to enter the house of these girls”.
Lula’s defense also declared that the Bolsonaro campaign’s request was “generic”by not indicating specific URLs of the contents to be removed.
“Bolsonaro’s campaign tries to hold former President Lula’s campaign responsible for the great repercussion on social networks caused by the speech, precisely because of the people’s indignation when faced with the declaration of a 67-year-old gentleman in the sense that he would have ‘painted a climate ‘ with ‘cute 14-year-old girls’. A natural commotion inherent to the gravity of Jair Bolsonaro’s statement”, says the defense of the former president.
Moraes’ decision was given on Sunday (Oct 16), as a matter of urgency. The case is now with the minister Cármen Lúcia, one of the magistrates of the Court responsible for the analysis of electoral advertisements.

The interview was granted by Bolsonaro on Friday (14.Oct) to the channel Red-Black Paparazzoon Youtube.

And I saw that they were kind of similar. Painted a mood, I came back. ‘Can I enter your house?’ I entered. There were about 15, 20 girls, Saturday morning, getting ready. All Venezuelans. And I ask: pretty girls 14, 15 years old getting ready on Saturday for what? earn a living”.
In the early hours of Sunday (Oct 16), Bolsonaro made a live broadcast on Facebook and said that the PT “exceeded all limits” to “cut pieces” of the interview video. He cited the reproduction on your profile of the visit made to the Venezuelan girls on April 10, 2021 in São Sebastião, administrative region of the Federal District.
“In 2020, I did a live from inside the house of some Venezuelan girls – there must have been 12, 13, 14 girls. The signal was picked up by ‘TV CNN’ and broadcast live”, declared Bolsonaro. “What was I showing with that? My indignation, because those Venezuelan girls, who had run away from their country, had run away from hunger, were in their small group, as there are thousands across Brazil, here on the outskirts of Brasília.”, declared the president.
