PT seeks to convince pessebists to ally themselves with Haddad; PSB president says government candidacy is maintained
The former president and pre-candidate for the Planalto Palace Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (EN) met with the former governor of São Paulo Márcio França (PSB) this Friday (24.jun.2022) to try to reach an agreement on the ticket that will dispute the Palácio dos Bandeirantes.
Márcio França is a pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo, as well as the PT Fernando Haddad. Lula tries to convince the former governor to run for a seat in the Senate on Haddad’s ticket.
The 2 are the best placed pre-candidates in the polls of intention to vote for governor, with Haddad in front.
“He [França] just spoke to me who had a meeting with him [Lula]. He said it was a good conversation, but that he maintains his candidacy for the government”said the president of the PSB, Carlos Siqueira, to the Power 360.
The report found that France, in recent days, has given signals to allies that it may withdraw its pre-candidacy for governor.
In recent conversations, he would have mentioned, for example, his willingness to help promote the candidacy of Beto Albuquerque (PSB), with whom he is close, to the government of Rio Grande do Sul.
The PT also has a pre-candidate for the Gaucho government. If França composes with Haddad, there is a greater chance that Albuquerque will compete with PT support.
Furthermore, it found the Power 360he would have indicated to allies a preference for working in an eventual new Lula government than in the Senate, even if elected to the Upper House.
He is one of the names quoted to occupy a ministry if PT manages to return to the Planalto Palace.
France’s eventual withdrawal would also involve a commitment by Lula to make an effort to help elect him as a senator. Today, the strongest candidate is TV presenter José Luiz Datena (PSC).
France sought to strengthen its pre-candidate for governor by attracting the support of the PSD. He even tried a maneuver that would involve pessedistas, pessebistas and PTistas from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to remove Haddad from the election.
The PSD, however, got closer to another pre-candidate for the São Paulo government: Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas (Republicans), former Minister of Infrastructure and name of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the Bandeirantes Palace.
PT and PSB are allies at the national level, but state alliances still need to be agreed. In addition to SP and RS, other places are also under discussion, such as Santa Catarina.
Voting intention polls show that, if the election were held today, Lula would have a chance of winning in the 1st round.
the last survey PowerDatereleased on Wednesday (June 22), indicates that Lula has 44% of voting intentions for the 1st round and Bolsonaro, 34%.
