Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday that his country’s troops were not involved in what he called Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.

“Today (Thursday) I read: ‘At about 5 am the Ukrainian border on the Russian and Belarusian stretch was attacked by Russian troops, supported by Belarus.’ soldiers quoted by the official “Belta” news agency.

Lukashenko also said that the Ukrainian military command knew about the possibility of the outbreak of conflict and did nothing to prevent it.

He revealed that on Wednesday night, before the start of the Russian military operation, a top Ukrainian military commander who had communicated with his Belarusian counterparts was advised to speak to Moscow, but did not.

Lukashenko has revealed the contents of a telephone conversation he had this morning with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “He told me in detail about the situation and, most importantly, about the development of the situation.
