President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called the situation on the western borders of the republic dangerous. He stated this during a meeting on the situation in the border zone, writes Telegram-channel BELTA.
Lukashenko called on the security officials to be attentive to their “friends and comrades” in the West and to strengthen the protection of the borders.
The President also assessed the actions of the Lithuanian authorities in relation to illegal immigrants who enter Lithuania from the territory of Belarus. “The fact that they passed the law there to shoot migrants, beat, crush, persecute, – well, they are complete scoundrels. But this is their right, they showed their face, ”he said.
Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko ordered to close the border with Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. In his opinion, the Belarusian authorities should be afraid of the expulsion of migrants into the country who illegally entered Lithuania from the Belarusian territory. “From now on, not a single foot on the territory of Belarus from the adjacent side, whether from the south or from the west, should not step,” he stressed.
On August 3, the head of the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service, Rustamas Lyubayevas, said that the Lithuanian border guards had stopped the entry of 180 illegal migrants from Belarus into the country. He added that the border guards took advantage of the new opportunities for forceful resistance to illegal immigrants.
