After landing at the Alfonso Suárez airport, in Madrid, Luis Rubiales, former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), was arrested after he arrived from the Dominican Republic.

Rubiales is investigated for alleged corruption crimes by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 4 of Majadahonda (Madrid).
His arrival in Barajas generated enormous expectations from the media and a great security deployment, with around twenty members of the National Police and Civil Guard.
Last Monday, the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard (UCO), together with security forces from the Dominican Republic, registered the temporary accommodation of the former president of the Spanish Football Federation in this country, where he has remained for a few months after the harassment scandal. sexual assault that ended up removing him from office.
The judge is investigating possibly irregular contracts from the last five years in the RFEF, coinciding with Rubiales' time at the head of the entity.
According to the EFE agency, agents from the Central Operational Unit (UCO) carried out the arrest after Rubiales landed in terminal 1 of the airport.
It also emerged that the purpose of the arrest is to read him his rights, interrogate him and intercept his mobile devices, according to the same sources.
