Luis Diaz: this will be Liverpool’s next game

Liverpool’s German coach Jurgen Klopp praised Colombian Luis Diaz in the Premier League, as one of the best he has seen from a newcomer to the top English competition.

Klopp jumped ahead of Tottenham in the race to sign Diaz from Porto for a fee of 37.5 million pounds ($50 million, €44 million) during the January window.

The South American striker made an immediate impact in his first two appearances, coming off the bench against Cardiff in the FA Cup before starting in his side’s 2-0 win over Leicester in the Premier League on Thursday.

Klopp is well aware that there is usually an adaptation period for players landing in the Premier League for the first time. but the German likes what he has seen so far in the 25-year-old winger.

“It was his first match and it was probably one of the best I’ve seen from a new player, that’s true, because he looked completely natural,” Klopp said on Friday.

Liverpool and Díaz have a new challenge this Sunday, when they visit Burnley, on the day of the Premier League.
