Luis Díaz: the moving gesture with Jefferson Lerma after Liverpool’s win

The peasant was not only applauded for his goals. His charisma with the rival also aroused praise.

Liverpool won and scored goals this weekend against Bournemouth.

The ‘reds’ equaled the record for the most victory in the Premier League era, while Manchester City had to come back from Crystal Palace thanks to a hat-trick from Erling Haaland (4-2).

With a brace from Colombian Luis Diaz and goals from Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Fabio Carvalho and a goal against his goal from Chris Mepham, Liverpool equaled the record set by Manchester United against Ipswich in 1995, already reached in 2019 by Leicester against Southampton and in 2021 by the ‘Red Devils’ also against Southampton.

“We wanted to show a reaction, give the best version of ourselves,” admitted Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, after his team failed to win in the first three matchdays.

In that objective, ‘Lucho’ was a key figure. And not only because of his goals, but because the moving gesture that he starred with Jefferson Lermahis teammate and friend.

The charisma of ‘Lucho’

At the end of the commitment, in the midst of his emotion, Díaz went to look for Jefferson Lerma, the other Colombian who was on the court and who suffered the defeat.

In the video of the moment, it is seen how “Lucho” finishes hugging with his companions and tries to reconcile Lerma.

“Lerma!”yells.

Then the compatriots melt into a heartfelt hug.
