Properties in urban areas of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, will now be identified with unique property IDs soon. Coding of properties from residential to commercial will be done and they will be identified with a unique property ID of 17 digits. Identifying properties with unique property ID will be easy, while at the same time, it will also go a long way in transferring and collecting outstanding taxes.
The exercise to bring uniformity in identification of properties in the bodies of all districts of the state including the capital has been intensified. Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar has instructed all the Mandalayukta, District Magistrates, Municipal Commissioners and Executive Officers of Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Panchayats to get the details of the properties prepared.
Such will be the coding of assets
The assets code will be 17 digits. The first two digits will be of the local government directory (state code). There will be a local body code of three to five digits. There will be zonal code of local body from six to seven digits. The local body will have a ward code of eight to ten digits and a property code of 11 to 16 digits. A special letter in place of the 17th digit will denote the format of the property. For example, R has been earmarked for residential, N for non-resident and M-mixed property (residential and non-resident).
Will help in nomination and tax collection
Unique property ID can easily see the details of its owner and property format. Apart from this, the unique ID will also be linked to the fixed tax system on the properties, so that information can also be obtained about the current status of house tax.
Help will be taken from digitization details
Digitization is underway to determine the code of assets in the bodies. The government has instructed the officers of the districts to prepare a list of properties by digitization and get it coded. After this, preparations are being made to implement the coding system through e-Nagar Seva Portal.
Coding system will also be applicable
Lucknow DM Abhishek Prakash informed that the process of digitization of properties in the district is going on. The system of coding will also be implemented.
