Today it is still early to say that Lucid he did it, which has become an economically solid manufacturer ready to challenge opponents on any market. But in the meantime he began his adventure by overcoming another fundamental step. Indeed, with a special event, the American company devoted to electric mobility has delivered the first 20 cars produced to customers. The new owners of the Air Dream Editions participated in a special initiative organized by Lucid, complete with customized panels behind the cars and a small presentation, to explain how and why trust was given to a brand that until recently could be considered exclusively as a start-up.
Peter Rawlinson, CEO and founder of Lucid, reminded early customers that the company would not “got a damn thing“, In terms of results and prestige, right up to the first deliveries. October 30th is therefore the date to make the achievement of this goal official. Called ‘Dream Delivery‘, the event allowed Rawlinson to present the impressive technical details of the Dream Edition luxury electric sedan. This special launch set will be produced in 520 units, the same number of miles that the company has managed to extract from a 118 kWh battery pack according to the official EPA rating. Better than the Tesla Model S Long Range and Mercedes EQS 450+.

From now on Lucid’s moves must be carefully observed, to understand if it will continue to pursue the path of the promises kept, on a par with an altogether bland media approach. For now, Tesla and Rivian amass far more headlines and rumors than Rawlinson’s company. But that may change in the future, as several companies in the electric world are promising plans upon delivery plans for vehicles they never built.
Elon Musk has not yet commented on the start of Lucid’s operations, but recently he recalled how the graveyard of automotive startups is huge: “in the last century there have been many deceased brands and they will increase. Tesla and Ford are the only American brands that haven’t gone bankrupt“. Who knows if Lucid will be able to survive, like them; the premises seem good.
