Lucca, 11 October 2024 – At Lucca Comics & Games, this year, the large monographic pavilion in Piazza San Michele it will be dedicated to Master Yoshitaka Amanoauthor of the trilogy of posters inspired by Giacomo Puccini. A space of 150 square meters, with an exclusive shopentirely inspired by one who is part of the Olympus of entertainment artists and contemporary mythologies.
In addition to the exhibition They love Corpus Animaethe first and largest European retrospective dedicated to him, to celebrate his 50-year career, produced by Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and scheduled from 13 November 2024 to 1 March 2025 at the Fabbrica del Vapore , Yoshitaka Amano will be the star guest of this edition of the Lucca event. After the unveiling of the first poster dedicated to Tosca (during the First Act, on June 26, Overture) and the second inspired by Madama Butterfly (Second Act, September 25th, Growing up), Amano will personally participate in the unveiling of the third and final poster during the opening ceremony of the 2024 edition, Wednesday 30 October at 11.00 at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca. A real “Butterfly Effect”. A representation of the backer who participated in the Kickstarter campaign, those who wanted to leave their name in the history of the Maestro.
It will also be possible to follow this moment in Piazza San Michelewhere a big LED wall on which you can watch the ceremony live opening of the event and the unveiling of Amano’s third work, which will complete one of the facades of the pavilion, alongside the other two posters.

ALL APPOINTMENTS WITH YOSHITAKA LOVE IN LUCCA – Like every year, Palazzo Ducale will host the most beautiful exhibitions of national and international authors in Lucca produced entirely by Lucca Crea on the occasion of Lucca Comics & Games. Among these also a preview of the exhibition They love Corpus Animae which, like the others, will be inaugurated on Saturday 19 October at 5pm. The central nucleus of the Lucca preview is the youthful period of Sensei’s productionperhaps the least known to the general public. Fifteen years of career spent in the animation studio Tatsunoko Production where, first as an animator and then as a character designer, he contributed to the creation of cult cartoons between 1967 and 1982 as Mago Pancione, Judo Boy, Ape Magà, Pinocchio, Yattaman, Hurricane Polimar, Tekkaman.

THEY LOVE CORPUS ANIMAE, THE EXHIBITION IN MILAN – With more 130 original works to tell the history of animation and world entertainmentwill be held from 13 November 2024 to 1 March 2025 at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, the first retrospective celebrating the 50-year career of the visionary Maestro Yoshitaka Amano. The opening is scheduled for November 13th, on this occasion the exhibition will be open from 5pm until 9.30pm.
Organized and produced by Lucca Comics & Games, in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, with the curatorship of Fabio Viola – former cultural collaborator of the videogames area of the festival – the exhibition will be the largest and most complete ever dedicated to the Japanese artist in the Westin a city, Milan, an international crossroads of Design, Fashion, Art and Entertainment, a bridge between the visual arts and a space that celebrates creativity.

What will make the exhibition unique will be the unrepeatable experiences related to it, such as the visit of the exhibition directly accompanied by the artist: an exceptional event for just 50 people, proposed in recent months thanks to a special Kickstarter campaign. The exhibition will also feature events hosted within it, conceived by POLI.design and organized in collaboration with Lucca Comics & Games: in the spaces of the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, workshops, talks and artistic challenges will be hosted with internationally renowned illustrators, designers and stylists who will enliven the exhibition of the Master of Shizuoka during the 100 days of his stay.
THE ART OF THE GREAT MASTER AMANO ALSO ARRIVES AT BARBERINO OUTLET – Not only Lucca and Milan, Maestro Amano’s art also reaches the Tuscan hills of Mugello arriving at the Barberino Outlet. From Saturday On October 12th it will be possible to visit a preview of the exhibition for free Milanese. Inside a large space dedicated to the Maestro, visitors to the center on the outskirts of Florence will be able to admire, for the first time in Tuscany, 20 reproductions of Amano’s best-known works.
Furthermore, at the entrance, thanks to a QR code positioned on the doors of the area hosting the event, you will be able to purchase tickets for the exhibition which will take place in the Lombardy capital starting from 13 November.
A fun and scenic one cosplay parade will inaugurate the preview (12 October, 5.30 pm) which will be open to visitors, until 26 October, every day, from 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm and, on weekends, from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.
The two are unmissable special events on 19 and 26 October organized by the Lucca Manga School: afternoon workshops with free entry (subject to availability) dedicated to manga drawing.
