What is Love Without Barriers about?
Jets and The Shark They are two gangs fighting for control of the streets of their neighborhood. The Jets are white and are in constant fight against the Sharks, who are Puerto Ricans who emigrated to the United States in search of better opportunities.
Within the group of the Jets is Tony, a boy with more common sense than his peers, since he does not participate in the disturbances that his gang causes. One day at a community dance he meets María, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of Los Sharks. They fall in love immediately, but, as the story tells, their love is impossible and like Shakespeare’s play, it will end in tragedy.
