Week after week, day after day, Lotus continues to unveil a few more details each time about its neighbor Electric SUV Type 132. After announcing that the crossover will be equipped with a LiDAR sensor for semi-autonomous driving, the British car manufacturer has unveiled the period in which the model will be officially presented: the appointment has been set at spring 2022, day and month have not yet been specified instead. A few more months then, and all the secrets of the new Type 132 will come to the surface.
Meanwhile, Lotus itself has made a kind of recap than shown in the previous teaser videos. It starts with an active aerodynamics system with the LiDAR sensor mentioned above, passing through the display dedicated to the infotainment system positioned in the center of the passenger compartment up to the presence of thin LED headlights and digital side mirrors. According to Carscoops, the electric SUV will also sport carbon fiber components and an angular body design. Regarding the engine specifications, thanks to the new Premium architecture we only know that the electric powertrain that will equip the new Type 132 will be combined with 800 Volt technology and battery packs with capacities between 92 and 120 kWh. The same platform will also support a new four-door coupe in 2023, a new smaller crossover in 2025 and a new sports car in 2026.
