A New York City Good Samaritan proved honesty isn’t dead after she found a wallet containing a cake of dollar bills in Times Square, the city’s main avenue and tourist attraction, and returned it to its rightful owner.
The noble act took place on Wednesday morning (2), while Eduardo Martinez, a native of Honduras, was walking through the crowded area to get to work, reported NBC New York. During his journey, the man reportedly dropped his wallet, which contained US$4,000 in cash along with wallet items such as documents and cards, near Broadway.

Realizing what had happened, the panicked Honduran returned to the crowded area, where he was approached by two police officers. They explained that they received a wallet from an unidentified woman who was heading to work at the same time as Martinez.
After verifying his identification, the officers handed the guy his wallet with the money, which, incredibly, still had all the contents inside, including the four thousand dollars.
Martinez said in Spanish that he is grateful to the officers and the woman who returned it, adding that their act of kindness proves that there are still honest people in the world.
Another surprising case
In a more surprising recovery last month, hackers carried out the biggest cryptocurrency theft in history, “for fun”, returned the $610 million they stole to its rightful owner. Even more shockingly, the robbed company offered cash as a reward for his “good deed”.
