Marquez in red
The news of Marc Marquez at the official Ducati team for the next two seasons it obviously toured the world and had great prominence in Spain.
The Iberian rib of Dazn dedicated a special program to the news in which Jorge Lorenzo participated as a commentator.
The champion from Palma de Mallorca as usual did not disappoint expectations: “I’m surprised by what happened. First of all from the news of Martin in Aprilia and at that point it was clear that Ducati would focus on Marquez. I thought it would be good for Marc go to Pramac with a GP25, but evidently he had much more ambitious plans.”

Lorenzo underlined how Marquez had everything very clear from the beginning: “He first asked Dall’Igna if he would stay for 2025 and 2026. This was his plan and now we have discovered it, and he played his cards the right way. Ducati’s plan was to keep all three, with Jorge in red and if possible Marc in Pramac. But Marc didn’t agree and he played his cards, publicly and privately, saying that he wanted the red one.”
At that point the market domination was unleashed, as Jorge Lorenzo observed: “I think Ducati got scared and the only option they had to keep Marc was to dress him in red. And that ‘red or I’m out’ threat had an effect“, concluded the former Yamaha, Ducati and Honda rider.
