It demands the annulment of the project and the creation of an inter-administrative technical working group
The preferential flow zones in Lorca “represent the ruin of 3,000 hectares and 100 million euros in material losses for the value of these lands.” This was stated this Friday by the president of the PP in Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, during the press conference held together with the executive secretary of Infrastructure and Housing of the PPRM, José Francisco Lajara, and the deputy spokesperson for the GPP in the Regional Assembly, Mari Carmen Ruíz Jódar .
The popular Murcians demanded that the Government of Spain cancel the preferential flow zones “due to the defenselessness of those affected,” they say, as well as the creation of an inter-administrative technical working group due to the “great social and economic impact that it will cause in the region”.
According to Lajara, the information exposed during the public consultation period of the project “is practically null and does not contain any reference on how they have prepared it.” Thus, “after analyzing the documentation, and verifying the null technical reliability”, he considers it necessary to create a technical working group in which the local, regional and national administrations participate. “Not only should risks be mapped, but managed to make the growth of the Region compatible,” said the popular.
Fulgencio Gil insisted that “the score be reset to zero and that the process begins again,” as well as that “the legal services of the Lorca City Council be made available to those citizens who need advice.” The deputy spokeswoman for the GPP cataloged this entire process as “a real botched job”, assuring that on three occasions “the maps have been modified without any technical criteria”.
