The Garoé storm that has hit the Peninsula since this Monday has left very intense rains in the southwest of the country. One of the most affected areas, without a doubt, has been Huelva, where some homes have been flooded, such as that of María, a neighbor from Trigueros who experienced a tragedy after being forced to leave her home with her 7-month-old baby when she saw how the current grew: “Look how far the water reaches.”
The young woman was inside the home when the heavy rainfall caused her to your house will start to flood while she was accompanied by her son and her two dogs, causing moments of great tension.

“The situation got out of control. There was more and more water in the dining room and the outside was increasingly flooded,” he explained to Europa Press, adding that there came a point where he had to leave the house to save his pets. : “I saw that my dog was already drowningso I put it in the house, although I saw that the water was already reaching my room.”
With disbelief he relates that “it was raining harder and harder”: “It was like a river, it had incredible force.” Despite the drama, thanks to the quick intervention of a neighbor and the action of the emergency services, María was able to escape the flood by car, leaving behind the destruction caused by the storm.
