The decision had to go to the maximum penalties because, in the first match, held in the last Wednesday (6) at the Café stadium, the result was also a 1-1 draw. This is Tubarão’s fifth state title, which has already had won the competition in 1962, 1981, 1992 and 2014.
Playing at home, in front of 3,681 people, Cascavel opened the scoring in the 49th minute of the initial stage with a free kick from defender Willian Gomes. However, at 25 of the final stage Victor Daniel left everything the same when goalkeeper Ricardo gave a rebound kick by Salatiel.
As the equality lasted until the end, the decision was decided on penalties. For Serpente, João Pedro, Willian Gomes, Robinho, Ricardo and Rogério charged and scored, while William Simões and Carlinhos wasted. Tubarão was more efficient, with Celsinho, Danilo, Jean Henrique, Felipe Vieira, Dalton and Augusto sending it to the back of the goal, while Salatiel failed.
