Current Foreign Minister, she opposed ‘Brexit’ although she later promoted it firmly and has remained faithful to Johnson until the end
Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Truss, 46, is the daughter of a pure mathematics teacher and a nurse, both of whom her daughter has described as ‘to the left of the Labor Party’. She grew up in Scotland and in the English city of Leeds. At Oxford she studied the most common career among politicians, Philosophy, Politics and Economics. In college she was president of the student Liberal Democrats.
In 2012 she co-authored a book published by a group of young conservatives, ‘Britain Unchained’, which predicted the decline of the United Kingdom if it does not eliminate regulations and reduce the role of the State in the economy. She however opposed ‘Brexit’ and has strongly promoted it. She has been in the Cabinet since 2014, she has been Minister of Agriculture, Treasury, Justice and International Trade, and now Foreign Affairs.
This aspiring to become the country’s third female prime minister likes to be compared to the trailblazer, Margaret Thatcher. But Defense Minister Ben Wallace criticized her when he encouraged British volunteers to enlist in Ukraine at the start of the war. Her active social media profile was a sign of her ambition to replace Johnson, but she did not rebel against her boss.
