09.40 – Marco Bezzecchi is one of the many happy Italian surprises at the start of 2022. The VR46 team rider is one of Casey Stoner’s favorites.
09.35 – Valentino Rossi in his last years at Yamaha has always stressed that MotoGP was now becoming like F1 in terms of the size of the personnel employed within the racing departments. The Iwata house must have surrendered to this evidence by now and to strengthen the engine sector it arrived thanks to the partnership with Toyota Luca Marmorini, former Ferrari engineer.
09.30 – On Friday at Montmelò a double for Aprilia, with Aleix Espargarò who preceded Maverick Vinales by just over three tenths of a second. Behind them the Italian couple formed by Enea Bastianini (Ducati Gresini) and ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia (Ducati). World leader Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) finished eighth, with Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha) taking a comforting tenth position. However, these results will have to be confirmed already this morning in the Free 3 in Barcelona, a decisive session that will serve to indicate the 10 drivers who will start from Q2 and the 15 who will have to start from Q1 in the afternoon qualifying.
