Sergio Fajardo, one of the candidates for the Centro Esperanza Coalition, has been mayor of Medellín, his city, between 2004 and 2007. He was also governor of Antioquia from 2012 to 2015, and in 2018 he was a candidate in the presidential elections, in which ranked third, behind Iván Duque and Gustavo Petro.
