The most magical day of his life. Abigail Leggio is only three years old but she is fighting like a warrior against a brain tumor. His dream was to caress a unicorn. And the Make-A-Wish Foundation Middle Tennessee team organized the magical meeting.
A very tender moment, “happy and sad at the same time”, confessed her mother Melissa, who together with her father Jason collaborated with the Make-A-Wis volunteers to make little Abigail live a perfect day, just like she dreamed of. .
Everything has been set up to look like a wonderful fairy tale. . The little girl, in her white princess dress, was accompanied by her older brother Ty, dressed as a prince, and together with the horses with their magical fake horn on their heads they posed in front of the lens of photographer Sarah Lawrence from Little Tot’s Photography.
Over the past year Abigail has undergone six rounds of chemotherapy at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Vanderbilt, as well as 10-hour brain surgery to remove most of the tumor. Brain scans show that a small portion of the tumor has remained in the brain and that it is not shrinking, but not growing or spreading.
“Seeing her get excited about the unicorn and spending a day alone for her was fantastic – tell the parents -. It was a happy and sad time. Seeing everything that was planned to make her feel special was extraordinary. But also sad because he had to have cancer to experience this special day. We are very grateful to Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee and Harris Riding Academy for everything they have done to make Abigail’s wish truly memorable. “
