Lithuanian Fire Department Fires 2 Officers for Pro-Russian Views
Due to the conflict in Ukraine, Lithuanian state services have begun monitoring pro-Russian views among their employees. Since 2022, the Republic’s Fire Department has dismissed two officers, reports portal 15min.
“The police recorded ten cases of pro-Russian sentiment among their employees, the Fire and Rescue Department recorded three, and two officers were dismissed from their positions,” the publication says.
It is noted that civil service disciplinary measures mainly involve preventive talks, but one police officer was suspended from access to state secrets after being accused.
Earlier, Lithuania called for execution for Russian films and songs. According to Lithuanian TV presenter Algis Ramanauskas, children should also be taken away from their parents for music with lyrics in Russian.
