Listen to TV, Let’s knock them down – Who wanted the Cosa Nostra massacres ?, Massimo Giletti’s special on the mafia, written with Sandra Amurri and Emanuela Imparato
An all outdoor journey by Giletti that starts from Cretto by Alberto Burri, one of the most important works of contemporary art in our country, created on the rubble of the old city of Gibellina destroyed by the earthquake of Belice in ’68. A monument to memory, which testifies how an earthquake can erase a country but not its history. And its truth.
For this reason the Cretto was chosen by the journalist as the symbolic set of his special on the mafia. A story with which Giletti – returning to the origins of the envoy’s profession – will try to trace the thread of that lost truth related to the now famous negotiation between the state and deviant pieces of the institutions. A truth that, even today, despite almost thirty years have passed and the sentences have reconstructed the dynamics of the massacres and condemned the material perpetrators – for the first time putting mafia men and statesmen in the bar next to each other – awaits to be written in full.
With testimonies, revelations and the discovery of places and characters, Giletti with the special Let’s knock them down – Who wanted the Cosa Nostra massacres ?, aired tomorrow 10 June at 21.20 on LA7 will take a new photograph of the so-called “infamous pact”, telling the story of the ’93 massacres and State-Mafia negotiation from an unprecedented perspective.
