- For higher consumption, between 1,201 and 2,500 KW/h per month, the cost will remain at 3,620 pesos both in summer and off-season.
These states join a list of regions in Mexico that already enjoy reduced rates, including Campeche, Chiapas, Coahuila, Colima, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Morelos, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Veracruz and Yucatánreflecting the CFE's commitment to economic support for Mexican households in the face of seasonal variations in energy consumption.
The measure, which adjusts the costs of essential public services such as water, electricity and gasis crucial for the economic and social development of the country, ensuring that households can more efficiently manage the increase in energy consumption during the warmest periods of the year.
What is the 1 F rate?
The Rate 1F is designed to apply exclusively to residential services that use electrical energy for domestic purposes, excluding those considered high consumption as defined by the DAC Rate.
This category is for individual connections in homes, be they houses, apartments or homes within condominiums, located in areas where the average monthly temperature during the summer reaches or exceeds 33 degrees Celsius.
Services under this rate will receive low voltage electricity and no other general use rates will be assigned to them.
CFE applies different rates
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) of Mexico implements a diversified tariff scheme for domestic consumption of electrical energy, which includes eight different rates adjusted according to the needs and characteristics of each region, based mainly on the average monthly temperature.
This tariff system is designed to reflect climatic variations throughout the country and guarantee adequate charging according to consumption and the environmental conditions of each location.
Domestic rates are classified from 1 to 1F, assigned according to the range of average monthly temperature in summer, from 25 degrees Celsius at least to 33 degrees for the highest rate, 1F.
