Lionel Messi, one title away from the mark of the most winning player in history

The Paris Saint-Germain beat Nantes today (4-0) for the final of the French Super Cup, with goals from Messi, Neymar (2) and Sergio Ramos and in what marked Christopher Galtier’s first game as coach of the capital team.

The Parisian team thus won the first title of the season, after a successful tour of Japan and led by Neymar at the highest level.

This title is the 41st for Messi as a professional and he was only one away from equaling the record of the Brazilian Dani Alves.

Messi has won: 10 Spanish Leagues, seven Spanish Super Cups, four Champions Leagues, seven Copas del Rey, four times he has won the European Super Cup and three Club World Cups.
