In Peru, a study carried out by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) states that births have decreased by more than 57% in the period from 2012 to 2021. According to the agency, among the causes of this decrease is a decline in marriages. According to the health sector, in the Andean nation there is a decrease in the birth rate of its own volition and because, in addition, couples have greater access and willingness to contraceptive methods.
