The chronology of events shows the baseness of the morenoism in its insidious assault against the organizing body of the elections in Guanajuato (Local Public Organization), regarding the murder of the candidate Bertha Gisela Gaytán to the mayor of Celaya.
The disastrous episode is used to push the fate of the government of the PAN member Diego Sinhue Rodríguez (to whom the President López Obrador says to respect), against the state attorney general, Carlos Zamarripa, and against the most valuable institution of Mexican democracy: the National Electoral Institute (with everything and its equivalents in the 32 entities, the OPL, which wants to disappear).
The intention is obvious: throw all the meat on the grill to try to win the victory. governorship that National Action has managed to retain for 33 years.
The context favors attacks: Guanajuato is the entity which records the highest number of intentional homicides in the country (on the weekend, of 334, 12 percent; on Monday, 15 percent of a total of 76, and on Tuesday, 23 percent of 71).
The misfortune was fueled by the former Consumer Attorney, Ricardo Sheffield, who spread the gossip that in the same attack against Bertha Gisela, the candidate for councilor Adrián Guerrero Caracheo.
But about the Guanajuato OPL and the protection that the unfortunate candidate did not have, this is what can be proven:
March 8.- Morena requested the National Electoral Institute to do what is appropriate for the protection of its candidates for the state governorship, Alma Alcaraz; to the Senate, Ricardo Sheffield, and 11 for candidates for the same number of mayors (including Gaytán).
March 10.- The INE notified the request to the state OPL.
March 11.- The request was submitted by the OPL to the Government Secretariat of Guanajuato.
March 12.- The same OPL reminded Morena that these types of requests had to be made once the candidates had registered, and this step was taken between Friday, March 15 and Thursday, March 21.
The legal registry was integrated on Saturday the 30th of the same month.
According to Morena, the OPL “denied” the security request, arguing something incontrovertible (that the period for receiving registrations for municipal candidacies had not begun).
The head of the OPL, Brenda Canchola Elizarraraz, explains that upon receiving the request, what the protocol establishes was done (notify the State Government Secretariat), and that the party was responded to with the legal bases of what to do with its request.
Morena complains that the OPL “never received a response nor a follow-up to the request,” which makes no sense because the security itself cannot be provided by the electoral authorities.
I do not know if between Saturday the 30th and Sunday the 31st the Guanajuato Security Secretariat was able to guarantee the safety of the candidates for whom the request was made, but on Monday, April 1, at their first rally, Bertha Gisela was murdered…
