“Lightyear”, the spin-off of “Toy story”, came to theaters to tell us the true story of the space guardian. It is the same movie that Andy saw in fiction and the reason why he became a fan of the character.
Despite the high expectations of Disney-Pixar, the film was banned in 14 countries due to an LGBT scene, directly affecting its worldwide collection and the debate on social networks was immediate.

Through Twitter, director Angus MacLane broke the silence about the situation and made it clear that he is tired of the controversy, as well as the attacks on social networks. Despite this, he is happy with the work that the production has done:
“People can review bomb all day. This movie will premiere on Disney+ and it will be the movie that everyone wishes they had seen in theaters. I don’t mind. I have to see it in IMAX. It’s great”.

In this regard, Chris Evans has also given statements in which he reflects on the censorship and scandal that the LGBT scene has caused. “Human history is one of constant awakening and social growth. There will always be people who are afraid and try to hold on to the past. But those people die like dinosaurs,” he told The Guardian.
After these words, the actor pointed out that the goal is not to pay attention to them, move forward and embrace the growth that makes us human.
