Hidalgo, Pachuca.- Las Tuzas del Pachuca Femenil will play the Apertura 2022 with the importance of playing again the Grand Final of the Liga MX Femenil, a contest that they have tried to win on two different occasions being rivals of Chivas Femenil but that both settled for the runner-up.
For that, the squad led by Juan Carlos Cacho will receive new soccer players as there are a handful of casualties during this period, only those deserving to continue in the club will play the next tournament, among them the emblematic player Mónica Ocampo, a soccer player who in this note the Team Debate Sports will give you several curious facts, which, perhaps, you did not know about her.
1.- Mónica Ocampo Medina was born on January 4, 1987 in Jojutla, Morelos. She is currently celebrating 35 years of age.
2.- She works as a striker and it would be on July 28, 2017 when she made her first appearance with Tuzas del Pachuca in Liga MX Femenil.
3.- Previously, Monica, in the distant 2006, was recognized by the International Federation of Soccer Association (FIFA) as one of the best 20 soccer players in the world.
4.- After representing the Mexican Women’s National Team in 2009, Ocampo emigrated abroad to play with Atlanta Beat and Sky Blue New Jersey in the former Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) of the United States.
5.- On June 27, 2011 Mónica Ocampo achieved a feat that, years later, would be framed in golden letters; playing with the Women’s Tri, she signed what has been recognized since 2019 by FIFA as the ‘Best Goal of the Women’s World Cups’ after hurting England Women in the opening duel of the German Championship.
6.- Representing the Mexican Women’s National Team, Mónica Ocampo stands out for having participated in the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Russia 2006 and the 2011 World Cup in Germany; she managed a goal in each tournament. On the other hand, she took third place in the 2006 Gold Cup and fought for the scoring title by scoring six goals in the competition.
7.- The player from Morelos has increased her level since she belongs to the Liga MX Femenil, so much so that she established herself by wearing the team’s most important number, the “10”, which she respects since the club gave her the responsibility of being a leader on the pitch.
8.- Despite having lost the final of the Apertura 2017 and Clausura 2022 Mónica already knows what it means to be a champion with the Tuzas del Pachuca Femenil, since she was part of the cast that participated in the Copa MX Femenil and was crowned at the facilities of the FMF by thrashing Xolas de Tijuana 9-1.
9.- Prior to the debut match of the Tuzas, against León Femenil, in the Apertura 2019, Mónica Ocampo was immortalized by the Hidalgo squad by recording her name in one of the boxes of the Hidalgo Stadium and being the first woman next to names like Pelé, Miguel Calero, Óscar Pérez, Christián Jiménez and Óscar Murillo.
