This Wednesday a ban on abortion after the sixth week went into effect in Florida. Although it received the approval of the State Supreme Court, the measure has been criticized for restricting the interruption of pregnancy to a period in which many women do not yet know they are pregnant.
The previous law allowed abortion up to week 15 of the process. Until this week, the State received an influx of women from other areas with stricter regulations. So far in 2024 alone, 1,300 women traveled to Florida to undergo a pregnancy termination.
