Novi Ligure: Area Z 3, Bertoli’s proposal also provides for the elimination of parking spaces in Piazza Pernigotti to bring the bus terminus of the Cit
Novi Ligure – A command for the municipal police, a new parking system for commuters and the relocation of the Lidl supermarket to the premises of the former slaughterhouse in via Pietro Isola, in the frame of the future role of the former general market of the Cavallerizza. The council leader of the Solo Novi group Marco Bertoli, to whom the mayor Gian Paolo Cabella gave the delegation for the recovery of the Zeta 3 area, exhibited his urban planning program on 10 August during the municipal commission at the Museo dei Campionissimi.
«To finally develop the area – explained Bertoli – I used a method that wants to involve all the political forces of the city, starting with the recovery of the masterplan, for which the Novesi spent 50,000 euros at the time. In the first place, I do not think it is right to build autosilos: the Novesi people do not want this kind of above ground parking ».
The plan assumes the elimination of a part of the parking spaces in Piazza Pernigotti, to make the area more pleasant for passers-by and to find space for a bus terminus of the Cit. But the most important change concerns the transfer of the municipal police command from the former Giorgi barracks to the current headquarters of Lidl in via Pietro Isola. In turn, the German food group would find its headquarters in the nearby former civic slaughterhouses.
«The police need a large and more functional headquarters – Bertoli specifies – where they would no longer remain isolated beyond the tracks of the railway line, in the event of natural disasters such as the flood that floods the underpasses. And this has unfortunately happened several times in recent years. Lidl would move through a trade-in agreement with Comune, without any outlay by the city. In addition, the urbanization works would bring money into the municipal coffers. With the superintendents we spoke several times about the constraints on the ancient buildings of the former slaughterhouse. And they are ready to meet us ».
Everything would be framed in the perspective of the recovery of the Cavallerizza, where the academy should take place food and wine. The plan was received coldly by the opposition of the Democrats for Novi, whose representatives have not digested the latest utterances by the finance councilor Maurizio Delfino who has openly accused the previous center-left administrations of “bad management”.
«On Bertoli’s ideas – said the Dem group leader, Simone Tedeschi – we have the confirmation that there is no planning and this administration navigates on sight. With regard to Delfino’s utterances, on the other hand, we decided to respond at the right time and in the appropriate places. His words are slanderous and defamatory, because, as can also be seen from Bertoli’s “non-project”, an attempt is made to divert the attention of citizens from their problems. For over a year they have no longer had a majority and are fighting over everything. Including Zeta 3. If we are called to answer for the absurd accusations addressed to us – concludes Tedeschi – we will reply with serenity. But we are deciding in turn to take legal action against the commissioner. But if there were the problems reported, where were they in recent years?“.
