The new prototype Lexus Electrified Sport ConceptAlso known as heir to the LFAwill be officially presented to the European audience at the next Festival of Speed in Goodwood, in the United Kingdom. The radical styled coupe should showcase the Toyota Group’s full electric potential. The acceleration time (up to 100 km / h) should be between two and three seconds, with a range of over 700 km. It is possible that a production model uses the new technology of solid state batteries to obtain unprecedented performances.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from 23 to 26 June in the grounds of Goodwood House, Sussex. The Lexus Electrified Sport concept will be showcased in a bespoke display on the Festival of Speed’s so-called Electric Avenue, an area dedicated to battery-powered vehicles.
The model was first unveiled on December 14, 2021, when Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor Corporation, unveiled a staggering number of new electric or electrified models from the Toyota and Lexus brands. Clearly this sports car, which at the rear recalls in some ways the shapes of the racing cars of the sixties and also the very light and perky British racing cars, it is an exercise in style as well as a declaration of technological intent. With bold proportions and an ultra-low ground clearance required for a high-performance sports car, the new model symbolizes the future of the Lexus brand and revives the spirit of the iconic Lexus LFA.
The design is very interesting, especially when looking at the car from the side: you can see a teardrop profile, with the roofline immediately sloping down after touching its high vertex. The new sports model will be part of a full range of fully electric vehicles that Lexus will launch by 2030. Through the strategy called Lexus Electrifiedthe company aims to exploit the full potential of electrification, trying to keep intact the driving sensations that normally offer the models of this brand, well-handling and sincere.
