Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The president of the council of the Casa de Maquío, Leticia Clouthierfiled a lawsuit forthe violent assault occurred this Wednesday at the association’s facilities during the presentation of a film function.
Clouthier explained that the film club event organized together with José Espinoza María de los Monteros was about to start, like every second Wednesday of each month, when two men armed with firearms arrived, pointed a gun at a woman and robbed those present.
He indicated that among the stolen objects is a camera with an estimated value of half a million Mexican pesos, which was used to record a documentary.

“We were starting the film club when two guys arrived with guns, they fired a bullet, they put a gun to one of the girls’ heads, they shook us all, they took bags, cell phones and a camera from us,” he said in a video posted on Twitter .
“We invite all citizens to help us build a friendlier place where we can all live in peace,” he concluded.
Assault on Casa de Maquío
It was on the night of this Wednesday, March 9, when armed individuals broke into the Maquío’s house, held a woman at gunpoint and robbed how many things they could to those present.
The events were reported to the 911 emergency number, so the municipal police immediately went to the museum and implemented an operation to find the assailants. However, they had already fled.
The criminals detonated their weapons at least once, but no injuries were reported.

The incident occurred in the memorial museum of the former PAN candidate for the presidency of Mexico, Manuel J. Clouthier del Rinón. This site’s mission is to “train full-time citizens in the culture of peace.”
