The protagonists of this tragic story are Luigi Leonetti, a 51-year-old worker, and his wife Vincenza Angrisano42 year old beauty consultant.
The first, at the height of the umpteenth quarrel due to the woman’s desire to interrupt the marriage, challenged a knife from the kitchen and hit her several times, leaving her dying and bleeding on the floor.
Perhaps the most serious thing of all is that the couple’s two children were also present in the house, two children aged 6 and 11 who they saw their mother die before their eyes.
Luigi Leonetti did not want to help his wife
After the crime, Leonetti himself has contacted by telephone on 118 saying what had happened. The same operators, hearing the desperate screams of the children, also alerted the Carabinieri.
In the same phone call, he operators from the emergency switchboard they tried to call directions to man on what to do for try to save his wife, waiting for the doctors to arrive on site in the ambulances.
Indications that man, however, he refused several times to follow, answering several times that he wasn’t interested in saving her.
This is what emerges fromprecautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of Trani against Leonetti. In it we read that the man had an evident “murderous intent, in light of the trajectory of the blows inflicted on the victim, also considering their height and the parts of the body affected“.
The 51 year old did not show in “albeit minimal sign of repentance” and, in the minutes following the crime itself, he showed himself “careless, not caring whether or not he was still alive“.
