Who was Lenín Pulgar?
Lenín Pulgar was born on January 16, 1951 in Maracaibo, Venezuela. With music in his heart, at the young age of 16 he formed Los Misteriosos and Universal; and, in 1982, Amor y Gaita, his greatest feat in the world of bagpipes in the plains country, with which he left a legacy of more than 130 songs.
'Happiness came to me in passing', 'Silver rain', 'I live waiting for you', 'My sweet hope', 'Nostalgia', 'I fell in love with you', 'You are my reason', 'The letter' and 'Contigo' are just one of the greatest hits that Pulgar left in thousands of musical repertoires in Venezuela.
The lights of the 'Romántico de la Gaita' went out on Sunday, January 7, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, nine days after turning 73 years old. The news was announced by the Ricardo Aguirre Bagpipe Foundation of the state of Zulia (Fundagraez) after sharing a publication offering its condolences to the family and friends of the Zulian artist.
