Leicester City’s Ayoze Perez vowed not to get distracted by his teammates, as speculation linked coach Brendan Rogers to a move to Manchester United.
And the British news agency (PA Media) reported that Leicester City will host the Polish Lega Warsaw team, tomorrow, Thursday, in the European League competitions.
Rogers’ name has been floated as a successor to sacked Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and he has already spoken to the team’s leadership to reduce any concerns they have.
Perez emphasized that there were no factors that might distract his team in the match on Thursday.
“We don’t even think about the possibility of Rogers leaving and what he showed us was his great focus on our development,” the Spain striker said.
“We are not thinking about anything else, and he is too, we are completely focused on the match,” he added.
Victory in the last two matches against Lega Warsaw, then Napoli next month, will give the team the top spot in Group C and qualify for the round of 16.
Should Leicester finish second, they will participate in play-offs to reserve a place in the new knockout stage, where they will face one of the eight third-placed teams in the Champions League group stage.
