The rumors turned out to be true: Lego has decided to launch a set dedicated to The Legend of Zelda. The “Great Deku Tree 2-in-1” set is made up of 2,500 pieces, and can be pre-ordered at a cost of 299.99 euros, and shipments will begin in September. The set represents two different Zelda games: Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, allowing you to build the Great Deku Tree with both green summer foliage and pink spring cherry blossoms. Multiple versions of Link are included, including child and adult Link wearing the green Hero of Time robes in Ocarina of Time and Link wearing the blue Champion’s robes in Breath of the Wild.
Lego said the Great Deku Tree set will have interactive features, such as the ability to animate the tree’s facial expressions. Other characters from the series are also present in the set, including fairies and Princess Zelda. In recent years, various Nintendo-owned games, such as Animal Crossing, Mario and Donkey Kong, have been successfully transformed into Lego sets. Demand for a Zelda-themed set has been strong: Lego has rejected fan-submitted ideas for years, going so far as to explicitly ban Zelda submissions in 2022 due to “licensing conflicts.” However, rumors of an official Lego Zelda set began circulating in February last year.
