The American television presenter Larry King, instrumental in understanding today’s talk-show throughout more than 60 years of professional career, died this Saturday at the age of 87 at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in The Angels.
King was hospitalized earlier this month for coronavirus, CNN reported at the time, and had suffered from various medical problems for years, including severe heart attacks and type 2 diabetes, as well as lung cancer in 2017, of which he recovered after undergoing surgery.
“During 63 years in radio, television and digital media programs, the thousands of Larry interviewees are a testament to his unique and undying talent as an interviewer,” according to the statement of his death, published on his official Twitter account.
His talk shows on CNN, Larry King Live, which he hosted for a quarter of a century, as well as the rest of his appearances, “are a constant reference to the rest of the media and are part of the historical archive of the late of the XX century and principles of the XXI ”.
